What is SiBorg ?

SiBorg is a decentralized mobile application focused on podcasts & Twitter Spaces integrating Lens Protocol. It aims to empower content creators by giving them ownership of both their community and the platform. Allowing fans to actively participate in the success of their favorite podcaster by contributing to their visibility and engagement alongside adding a social identity layer so that each fan can be recognized for their true worth.

Why podcasts ?

In today's era, individuals are increasingly immersed in their phones, linked to social networks, and drifting away from in-person conversations. Podcasts stand out as the purest form of discussion between individuals. At SiBorg, we firmly believe that podcasts and Twitter Spaces represent the most effective means of acquiring knowledge and information, a crucial asset for thriving in the Web3 landscape.

Social network issues:

Social networks are facing several issues. Many of these issues are linked to centralization. The current oligopoly on data generates several risks, such as manipulating people’s emotions to make them addicted, not to mention scandals like Cambridge Analytica or the leakage of user information. The problem is that users do not own their data; rather, social apps do, which can be problematic for moderation. As the platform owns everyone's content, there is a high risk of censorship and a risk of losing everything in case of a ban. Furthermore, looking at platform governance, content creators and users do not have a say in the platform's evolution. Changes in fees, advertisement policies, or algorithms can impact content creators' revenue and affect user experience. Another pressing concern is the prevalence of bots, which not only disrupt genuine interactions but also pose a threat to the authenticity of online communities. Furthermore, the lack of control over personal data and its ownership remains a significant pain point. Users are often left in the dark about how their information is utilized and monetize, raising legitimate privacy concerns. Last but not least, users are fed up with not being recognized at their true value. People are in need for recognition and exclusivity. Twitch is a perfect example of this need of recognition as It enables content creators to show recognition to their fans, especially when they subscribe to a creator's content.

Podcasters pain points:

Podcasters face a myriad of challenges in today's competitive digital landscape. One of the foremost pain points is the constant struggle for visibility and engagement. With an ever-expanding sea of podcasts available, it's increasingly difficult for creators to stand out and attract a dedicated audience. This not only dampens the potential impact of their content but also hinders opportunities for meaningful interactions with listeners. Additionally, monetization remains a significant hurdle. Many podcasters pour their time, effort, and resources into producing quality content, yet struggle to find sustainable revenue streams. This financial strain can often impede their ability to consistently deliver high-quality episodes.

Twitter Spaces case:

Twitter Spaces are a type of podcast that really interest us at SiBorg. They face one major issue, which is disoverability. Once a Spaces session is over, the content is then lost in the creator's feed which essentially makes it invisible.

How does SiBorg solve this ?

SiBorg app makes Spaces discovery easy by linking past Spaces to each Creator's profile. Therefore, the content lives forever and can be consumed at any time.

Curation issue:

In today's world, individuals are inundated with content. With the advent of AI technologies such as Chat GPT and platforms like YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Twitter, there's no shortage of information available. What's truly scarce is time and the ability to curate this vast sea of content effectively.

At SiBorg, we believe that in today’s digital landscape, curation is the key to standing out. However, the challenge with curation lies in the fact that it requires a solid educational background, which not everyone has. This is why we are placing our trust in the power of community and collective intelligence.
